So I have been away for a bit but in working on my latest project I wanted to re-do my style a bit. Also my scanner was down. (AD I will have some stuff to you shortly for review! Thanks for the patience man!) The main critique that i was getting was that my body proportions are a bit "off" or "different." Now many people liked the way I did things and I liked the cartoonish look as it leaned itself to my style of action drawing really well. That said, I was getting turned away.
So with the blessing of my co-creator on th eproject I took a little bit to get myself right. I think I have found what i need to be able to use that "manga-esque" action along with a slightly more mainstream style. So I will likely post my sketches that got me here, but hee is a Newer Batman that i did to test it. I will also post a few pages in the near future of what I am working on to show how my old and new style are working. That said I am stillgetting comfortable so anyone that wants to make suggestions of characters and situations I should practice/ warm up on, I am all ears!
On to the Bat. Damn fine work. His pose looks good, the light looks right and all the belt details are clean. All that said, I'm still trying to figure out why someone thought you had a problem to begin with. It's not like you've been drawing Transformers: Animated or something.
Anyway, welcome back, Jazz.

Verreh, verreh nice. Love the stylized body. Snaps for getting the head right-- I think that's one of the biggest difficulties of drawing Bats, and you nailed it~

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
Have a great time everyone and please fav this article so as many people can see the featured works. I would recommend seeing each one and faving them too.

Always question authority, always.
The one thing I find 'out-of-place' for Batman, in general, are those belt pockets..
Keep up !!
